About Me
I am a Brooklyn-based psychodynamically oriented therapist. I hold a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and am licensed to see clients in New York State. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in management in a corporate setting, where over time I discovered that cultivating meaningful, trusting relationships was my true passion, and I chose to use that in service of people, not companies.
In addition to providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples, my clinical experience includes working with older adults and people with dementia in supportive housing and facilitating mental health support and psychoeducation groups.
I have a strong social justice orientation and I am aligned with the principles of Health At Every Size, meaning that I work from an anti-fatphobic lens. I have experience working with queer and trans folks. I am kink-affirming and have experience working with nontraditional relationship structures.
I am a firm believer in cultivating identities separate from work. That said, I am a dedicated practitioner of yoga, a ravenous consumer of pop culture and media, and a devoted fan of live art, from classical opera and ballet to experimental theater to underground techno.
I also write a weekly newsletter on Substack called Reality Test, in which I explore therapy in the media, culture, and practice, and wrestle with my own complicated feelings about the mental healthcare system.
